997TT Spec time

I need to spec my new 997TT next month so I thought I would ask a few experts their opinion. What is must have's and definate no no's!

Colour was going to be Atlas Grey, sorry for copying you Gary! Or is it Estoril Blue! Am def going for the aluminium inserts on the wing mirrors with an alcantara sports multifunction wheel and of course the old mans lumber adjustment sports seats!!

I have the PCCB and have been delighted with them as they are very confidence inspiring. Every other car I get into feels like it has no brakes by comparison. The Sports Chrono is a must not for the silly clock that you probably wont use but for the that extra boost that you definately will.

Craig, I'm sure you've read Alex's on his selection and spec, certainly worth the read..[:)]

Sports Chrono is the must, not that you'll use it that often but come time to resell I think you'd struggle to shift it without..

Sports Seats as you saw are a great addition and for me a must have, I know others will differ but having a car to drive the seats really do come into their own..

The US seem transfixed on the LSD but I keep reading that its not a must on an AWD car...I couldn't make my mind up and still can't [&:]
Ceramics seem to be staying the test of time so I'd put them on next time...

Visit the pictures in the main club website that Alex put up, it show lots of the options, many that the dealers know little about...

Hi Craig,
Totally agree with the others on options. Certainly get the brakes if the budget allows - but don't skimp on other favoured options just to get them.
LSD is definitely not worth it for a 4 wheel drive car which has all the latest electronic gismos.
Specing the car is exciting [:)] - but get yourself a decent colour first!!! [:D]
Regards,
Clive

Think I am going to give up on work for the next six weeks and scour the build specs for every country just to see what I can come up with.

Think its definately ceramics, sport chrono, cruise control, adaptive sports seats, alcantara thick sports wheel with multifunction etc.
I like the cocoa interior but I also like the red stitching on black leather!
God I was like this when ordering my new B&O system for the house![8|]

I had Cruise Control on my last 997 and I never really used it. Only very rarely are motorways empty enough to sit at a constant crusing speed.

Didn't know they did an alcantara multifunction steering wheel, let alone a thicker one.

Lastly, if you are going to go for Cocoa then I think it only works well if you order a LOT of extra leather options around the interior to tie everything together. This can get very expensive very quickly.

If I were to do it again now, I would either have Cocoa or Black leather with silver deviated stiching in places. There are some great examples of these in the '997 Members Only' section of the forum.

Although I don't think Cocoa and Atlas go perfectly together (and your OPC will surely warn you of this); here's a great Cocoa example with deviated stiching:

Saying that, here's Atlas/Cocoa combination that looks great...

Now I have cruise and wouldn't buy a car without it.. even have it fitted on the van..!
Its not an expensive option (in relation to some options) and I use it quite alot when traveling distances or at night...

Takes all sorts and that the beauty...

No additional leather options on mine, I went the Silver/Ally look route.. not that its any cheaper.. just don't forget the little bit in front of the gearstick... which annoys the hell out of me that I missed it..

Black and red stiching.

Nice, but the seat backs in white do lift the interior quite a bit.. imagine it without/in the grey [&:]
and why no red seatbelts..?

I deliberately missed that out. Yes it ties everything together better but it cost a lot for a tiny bit of leather and I was worried about it wearing badly as I always put lots of junk in that storage area as soon as I get in the car (mobiles/wallets/keys/etc).
