Follow the link to the movie section of our new website, on there are the in-car movies from the last 4 events:

1. Loton Park, Saturday practise and new unofficial record
2. Loton Park, Sunday timed run, new record
3. Wiscombe Park, second timed run and 2nd place behind local man Bob Mortimer in his 3.5 engined lightweight 3.0RS replica on slicks.
4. Longleat, first timed run and new record
5. Longleat, 2nd timed run, slight improvement on previous (tried different gear change points)
6. Prescott, first timed run, new Porsche Club record. Course record set on the day by the flying Bob but 2% slick penalty to his time scored him behind mine.

I do hope that you all enjoy the shots of my old aircooled beastie beating the routemasters and most others into submission - and not a fence in sight!

Great videos, Colin. Note that you don't bother with driving gloves. Is that to give you that extra feel?

You know, I have never owned a pair of driving gloves. A lot of guys use them because their hands sweat and ruin the suede on the steering wheel, but since I do not suffer from that problem I have never been inclined to wear them. I do hold the steering wheel quite lightly and am very sensitive to the natural movement of the steering resulting from the tyres following the road - I guess I would lose some of this sensitivity with gloves.

Glad you all enjoyed the movies - I should have a couple of bonus ones to add the weekend after next. Lancashire & Cheshire Car Club are running a two day sprint at the new Ty-Croes circuit on Anglesey and I'm intending to go and sample the new circuit in anger before the season closes. All I can say is that the new circuit looks fast although I have been warned that the grip level is low - so expect a few high speed slides!

Just to let you all know that the movies from the Anglesey Sprint are now available on our website.

There are three movies listed:
The first is my fastest lap from the Saturday on the National circuit. This lap uses the only remaining corner from the original Ty Croes circuit - School - which is the "bottle testing" first bend which you have to enter without braking in order to get the best time. The second movie is from Sunday and is the parade lap of the International circuit, which is the longest configuration of the available circuit permutations - look out for the slide correction on the first bend where I am trying to work out the optimum cornering speed whilst following the golf. Finally the third movie (which is top of the web page) is from my fastest lap of the International circuit - which was 4 seconds quicker around the 2 mile lap than Roger Moran driving his new 997GT3....

Thanks for posting the link to the movies Colin . Very entertaining and good alternative to youtube [:D]......should also get a few more visitors to this forum when word gets out....
