A bargain?

Sounds almost too good to be true. White is a great colour, if you are a buyer, as any rust will be very obvious.

I agree £2K isn't doing any of us any favours. I hope his 928 gives him nothing but grief.

I'm sure that's not Glacier White (if it is I've made a terrible mistake with my paint choice [:(]). As far as I'm aware no 944's were factory painted in it and it's looks too creamy (i.e. it looks like Alpine white) in those the pics.

Doesn't stop it looking like great value of course!

Maybe it's the mileage that is prompting him to price it so low?

198K? Excellent mileage - Far better a car that has been used than one that has been left to stand and rot.

Low mileage cars are a bit of a false economy IMHO. Obviously you wouldn't deliberately buy a car that's been to the moon and back but 10-15k per year is a good indication that it hasn't stood for months/years and then been started dry or (as bad) used as a shopping car.

If I had the space I'd be biting the mans hand off. It's worth more than £2K in spares alone.

In fact I think Mr McNaulty has a duty to buy it for the good of the 944 community - he's got £500 in the Register kitty so the rest will slip onto the plastic and barely notice.

LMAO, if only it wasn't white...sorry white-car owners!

I can't quite see the Club contributing to buying me a new car, but stranger things are going on! [&:]

Have to say that polished D90s, Darren at RPM has them on the car he's selling, really do look the mutt's nuts. I usually hate that sort of thing, but I'm wondering just how you could mirror-polish teledials....[8|]

I think that car was for sale last year, at about the same price but the ad said the clutch was on its
last legs. If it is the same car and the clutch has been done then it is cheap, if not and and does need
a clutch it is maybe not as cheap as it seems.

I hate to disagree with you on this one....[&:]

How many S2s advertised for sale at the moment will need a clutch soon? Possibly any of them unless it's been changed recently. I'd worry far more about the bodywork - that can easily hit the wallet far more than a clutch - and the condition of the cams. A decent service to include front-end overhaul, caliper overhaul and a few little extras could be double the cost of a clutch.

An S2 in otherwise good nick that needs a clutch will be worth a lot more than this one. An S2 with knackered cams and serious rot will be worth a lot less.

I agree John (maybe something to do with mine approaching 160K ;) ) - but that's not necessarily the market sentiment. I always wanted a white 944 - and at least this one is working (unlike mine atm [:(]) Won't hijack this thread but hope to post better news once it's running agan.

Paul,

Please don't hate to disagree, disagree with pleasure it is much more fun[;)][;)][;)]

I had not even started on bodywork, cams, belts, box etc, I think the danger of cheap cars is they are that for a reason unless you are very lucky. I was only pointing out that this car was for sale needing a clutch last year which was the reason for its cheap sale, it is still cheap and if it has had the clutch it should be more. I would check the sills, the wings and every seam for rot. I would want the top end of the engine checking and at the mileage all the suspension bushes will need changing. If it is the same car as last year it already has Mo30 front calipers so slightly less to spend for a track day car[;)][;)]

P.S White is the new black[:)][:)]

P.S White is the new black

lol - if only I could find a decent S2 in Maritime. I'd pay over the odds for the colour alone! Hoping Tony Shannon will sell me his at some point...Harriet? [8|]

The wheels look like they are the forged alloy version i suspect this car has MO30 suspension also.
