I notice the advert was shot on twisty roads in the wet... when a 911 of the period would have swapped ends and flown down the hill backwards? [8|]

Tell us something we didn't know [:D]

Cheers

I love the US commercials that have a power sliding tire smoking turbo that then, at the end, say "Porsche does not recommend exceeding speed limits". They probably wouldn't get away with that these days.

Being saying this for years now peoples.......blah blah blah.............944's have been forgotten about, Mention a classic Porsche to someone, all said and done pops the word 911 into 99% of peoples heads, now that the "classic porsche" read aircooled 911 has gone silly pricewise people ( and investors) are looking at other " old Porsches, ala 924 and 944
Causing uproar now but the Turbo being the flagship model and seeing the greatest desirability and price increase, that said all 944 flavours on the up and about time too. [:)][:)]

Recent sales on here and elsewhere have already told us that values are on the up, and it's nice to see that the 944 is now being appreciated by a wider audience.

I think it has done for a long while really, it just took a while to shake the stigma it had.

I wonder how the image was originally dragged down, I read this road test recently and it sounded pretty conclusive back then...

All that said, I can't help thinking that little piece in the original post is maybe trying to push a car that a certain vendor had had for sale for a while though ;)

it was conclusive Hallsy, and still is as we know. Thanks for the link btw.

Which was the "better car", well Derek Bell said the 944 turbo. Have to agree although I never drove a TVR or Esprit. Plastic cars don't count [;)]

Is this recognition of a 944t a good thing? time will tell. I liked it when they drew little attention, could blow the socks off most modern stuff, and were economical, reliable old work-horses, that could deal with rain, snow, yumps, potholes, tramlines which is important being in Ireland 50 miles from the nearest motorway, while also feeling well built and relatively safe if the worst happens. (ever seen an Esprit with damage, [&:]? Grim)
