New member here ??

It would appear all this isolation has given me the time to finally get my membership sorted out.

My names Mark, I’ve got a 2006 Cayman S which I came owner of just over 2 years ago.

slowly working on the car mostly by myself save for a few jobs it’s allowing me to really get to know the car and how it’s put together, I’m not a mechanic by trade and far from it but I’ve done many jobs on her now from changing both IMS and RMS seals to general cosmetic jobs.

I could go on about the car but I’ll save the waffling for meets

Looking forward for the end of isolation and maybe a track day or two later this year

Hi Mark.

Looks like your not afraid to tackle a lot of jobs.

Keep safe. Welcome to the friendliest region.

Mark.

Hi Mark

Welcome to the club and Region 3.

It is a pity that times are as they are. Greg and Deb, the regional organisers, arrange many events to keep us entertained and our cars in proper use. There is a club trackday at Croft scheduled for August, but it's anybody's guess whether it will still run.

How do you find the CAE shortshifter?

John & Gillian

Hi John and Gillian!

seems like theirs lots of friendly members in the area which is great!

I’ve noticed the track day in August but I’ve also noticed this years annual show is at Croft in September so that maybe a good first one to dabble my foot in. There’s also a javelin track day the day after the annual show on the Monday 😄

The CAE shifter is great! Such a short precise throw, was tricky getting it all installed and setup more so just having the centre console painted and trying not to scratch it on reinstalling 😂

You can always have a test if we’re at any meets together 👍

Hello again Mark

Unfortunately the annual show, planned for Croft for the first time this year, has had to be abandoned too as the prep would have to be a lot further on, right now, than is proving possible in the present circumstances. Let's hope all this will be long behind us next year.

Look forward to meeting you. If the club track day in August is pulled then the Javelin day may be the one to go for.

Stay well.

John & Gillian

Ahhh man I was hoping there’d be a whiskers chance the annual show would still go ahead.

We’ve been to big jam at santapod the last 3 years which is usually late July and I’m still kind of hoping that goes ahead, they still haven’t announced it being postponed.

I’ve failed to get to the annual show the past 2 years and this year was going to be the one 😂 Literally got a visit to the body shop and throw some wheels on and the car would be ready 😩 we’ll see how it all plays out I guess....

Welcome to R3 Meisho, looks like some significant upgrading going on there - lets hope the Covid-19 threat is lifted soon and the lockdown with it and you can get some bedding in done.

Look forward to meeting - Philip

Hi Phillip

I honestly can’t wait for some meets! Cars booked in with redline racing next Monday get the geometry set up and have the airbags coded out, chipping away at the jobs so it’s all together ready post lockdown 😄
