Does anybody know where to find the part for an A/C control knob including all the bits behind it? This is for a square dash model.

I pulled the centre console today and broke a connector, and have no idea where the other two goes. (One with a broken-off plastic piece and then 2 other wires, see below)

right so I had a further look and it looks like this part (the black plastic bit I broke at least) is manufactured by Burgess and it says gateshead england. Number on the front says 478959 511 and at the back 048446 50 but google hasn't returned anything back to me yet. Looks like I will have to hunt this part down at the scraps.

have you looked through PET? Most switches etc. are still available, albeit some are silly money, but worth checking forst.

yep. I have been scouring the PET and electric diagrams to no avail. Closest I got was a picture from pelicanparts and there is an item labelled number 4 but no one seems to have the part number for it at all. However there seems to be an abundance of the no.8 type A/C control.

And for reference of the knob appearance.

Relatively easy to find:

This is what I want!

Are you looking on PET?

Number 4 on that has a part number. 478 959 519 knob. Might not be easy to find, as I guess very few early Luxes came with AC, but that could also mean the dealers have a dusty old bag containing a new one lurking somewhere!

That's a parts diagram copied from PET, but all the part numbers are on the proper site. There's a link in the faqs, it's free to download.

Ahhhhhhhh! How could I have missed that! I'll call em up tomorrow but I've managed to find someone selling it for a tenner. So if that one doesn't work then at least I can go to Porsche with a part number. Thanks a lot for the help.
