A/C Resistor Pack/Bimetal Switch

Having probs with the blower speed control on my air con .
Symptoms seem to be due to problems with the above mentioned resistor pack.
Where abouts does this item lurk?
According to Bentley's it's in the passenger footwell but that's for LHD... so is it in drivers footwell behind pedals or elsewhere?
Any help greatly appreciated.
