I am delighted to tell you Gill Gardiner (ARO r2) and John (golden wheels) Hunter (r1) are organising an inaugural meeting of the "in-betweeners" a meeting for the "Region 1½ ers". Particularly during the winter, getting up to the "Lairhillock" or down to the "Dakota" is often not easy and there are a significant number of members of both r1 and r2 in between.

The first meeting will be at Milton Hotel, Grange Road, Monifieth on Thursday, 27th October, but future meetings will be on the third Thursday of the month and will be wherever suits the majority.

If you live nearby, call Gill on classapads@live.co.uk or 01382 778923 who'll confirm the details.

And the night before the 2011 "GaH" weekend............sort of "in-between".............

What a good idea..............I would think there's a lot of Porker owners who miss out a bit by being inbetweeners!

Kx

I will certainly be attending.
I would imagine that something similar would have been muted before-think it was probably myself this time that started this move lately, bothering Gill only a few times and I am glad she was able to make it happen.
I have attended a meeting at the Dakota previously which was very enjoyable, not managed Lairhillock yet but this new meeting venue/location should allow us in-betweeners to get more out of our membership.
These meetings will certainly be a start and hopefully quite a few other like minded people will attend.
The venue location is quite easily located in Monifieth, by Broughty Ferry/Dundee on the Western side and Carnoustie on the Eastern side.
The Milton Inn- being a nice venue with a good off street carpark at the front of the hotel, with nice food and beverages being served by wonderful hosts Mark and his wife and all their friendly staff.
The meeting room was formely called the Gunn Room now has been renamed as the Map Room.
I have been in a few car clubs over the years and 3 of them have used the Milton as a meeting venue, Christmas Meals etc. also as a starting point for various runs around the area.
I certainly hope that the meetings are a success with future events, road runs etc. leaving from the area.

Just a reminder......this coming Thursday. Details in the first post or call Gill, details in PorscheFile.

Have a great time all "one and a halfers".

Here here and a nice walk home !
A good turnout for the first meeting in a nice setting/venue and the hosts were very happy to have us !
The Milton Inn also has 2 levels of decking and another level of grass with nice views over gardens down to the burn.
Although there were other PCGB events around the meeting date it was well attended and hopefully more members can attend and the group of 1 1/2ers can grow from there.
