Just a quick note, if anyone is interested in having a day out at the races, horse races that is.
On Saturday 22 July, Market Rasen in Lincolnshire is putting on what is called Ladies Plate Day. Nothing to do with plates, but it’s like a mini Ascot, where the race goers will be dressed likewise, but not top hat and tails. however dress is optional, but needs to be smart.
I suggest the Tattersalls Enclosure, where the cost is £30 entry. A start for anyone who has not attended a race meeting before. Where we can arrange to meet up inside, but everywhere is likely to be busy.
The gates open at 11.35am, and the first race is at 1.35pm.
They can’t give a dedicated parking area, and they would like racegoers to share cars, to reduce traffic. That might be a tad difficult for most of us.
Fingers crossed for fine weather.
