It seems that my old S2 has come back onto market!:

My Old S2 for Sale
The worst part about this is that if I did not own my current Turbo I may well have been tempted! Two 944s though. Or may it is best to leave the past as just that.

If anyone is thinking of buying it you can PM me although here is a previous ad of when I sold it all those years ago:

Additional Information:
I was hoping not to do this but with my dad's car throwing a wobbly again, it's left me with little choice.

I bought this car last June with a poorly engine. The No.2 Piston had previously seized in the bore, hence it made a racket as some of you may recall. I aquired another engine from a Porsche breaker with 85,000 miles on it, and sent the engine down to EMC Motorsport in Birmingham (http://www.emcmotorsport.com). Whilst it was there, the following was performed on it:

Cambelt, Balance belt and tensioners all renewed
Cam timing setup/dialled in
New Sachs Solid Centred Clutch Kit
Backplates/Crackle Effect cam cover transferred from the old engine with new gaskets
Cambelt tension checked after 1500 miles.

I have done around 3,000 miles in it since then and it has been a pleasure to drive the car. It pulls well, and cleanly to the redline with a kick at 4k, and generally is free of untoward noises. I have also changed the V5 details to make everything up to date.

Furthermore it's had the following done in my ownership mechanically:

New O/S Lower Arm (Hartech Replacement)
968 Lower Arm/Castor mounts
BERU Ignition leads/Cap and rotor arm
New Handbrake springs
Radiator cap
2 x New tyres (front)

Previous to my ownership the owner (he did 20,000 miles in the car (7k of which were done over the last 3 years) over 10 years) he did the following:

Braided Brake lines
New Pads/Discs/Shoes all round
New Oil pressure sender (on the new engine)
New N/S Lower Arm (PorschApart)
Exchange Steering Shaft (PorscheShop)
New TREs and Track Rods (ECP)

As a result, mechanically it's very tight.

Interior wise it's all good too. It has leather seats front to back which are devoid of cracks and rips. Rest of the interior is also good. I will also throw in the Becker Mexico Pro into the sale which perfectly compliments the interior in a retro/modern kind of way.

Exterior wise it's got a few stonechips on the front but generally it's quite tidy and devoid of dents. It's sitting on Genuine 996 Carrera Cup Alloy wheels with 944/968 specific tyre sizes, in addition to 968 Cup Mirrors (latter being worth £200 easily alone).

Looks a good one for the price assuming it's been well kept since your ownership.

If this was up for sale when I was looking recently, I'd have been very interested.

How come the mileage is lower now? He must have been driving it backwards for 2 years.

I reckon he has rounded the mileage down for his listing. Judging by the tyres (the fronts are the same as what I put onto it) he has not covered many miles since.

It's a fair price for the car I reckon :). If I did buy it, there would be a couple of things I would do to it, but nothing out of the ordinary for the price he has priced it at (since he has owned it, I understand he has resprayed the sills, and added a stainless exhaust).

It does go to show you that these cars are such a bargain. That is a huge amount of car for the money.

Makes me wonder if I should shift mine and get a better one.

I see it doesn't have the Becker radio any more. Have emailed him as I might be interested. Was he a car trader when you sold it to him (I've googled his landline number and it is an opticians)?

I guess I should spill a little more here.

I spoke to the seller of the car. He was saying that how the chap I sold it to sold it to him when the original owner decided to raise some cash for buying a house (both of them are friends; I recall the buyer at the time speaking about how he worked for the import car company)).

In my original advert I forgot to say how the car had a replacement heater matrix, new radiator along with near enough every coolant hose replaced in addition to a genuine Porsche thermostat, and fan switch.

As for the Becker, that is now in my 205 ;). Quite a faithful (and seemingly reliable) HU that is in comparison to others I have had. Maybe I should fit that to my current 944...

If he put as much effort into putting up as decent and full a description as you did when you previously advertised it the thing may be sold by now. Tomorrow never comes as they say ...

I did message him through ebay to ask for some details but heard nothing ...
