A few previous owners

Got a pack of papers from the DVLA this weekend showing all owners from new. Cost me £5. Aways nice to be able to get this sort of information. Thought I would post the list of previous owners on the very remote chance any of them come on here.

William Guy Peter Shaw purchased the car new. His address was Welburn Manor near York. Car was delivered in Metallic Silver and first registered on 8/11/1972. Registration 7 GNP.

Since then it has been owned by ...

Paul Adrian Ostrer (Slough) (1978)
David Allan Williams (Amersham) (1982)
Simon Peter Corbett (Solihul) (1982)
... car changes to white at some point around here
Peter Ingley (Birmingham) (1983)
Peter John Morris (Tamworth) (1985)
... registration changes to standard 73 L plate on purchase
Mark Unwin (London) (1988)

Then sold to the chap I bought it from (who I obviously know).

wonder if John Lord (R9 R/O) would be good anough to see if any of them are PCGB members and if so if he would drop them a line on your behalf.

Ian,

Sorry - I've just checked the Early 911 Register and none of those names comes up - the register I have only seems to go back about five or so years, so I'm meeting up with Peter Cook to try and enter the old archive register in as well - to enable searching just like this.

I'll keep your request in mind and let you know if I find anything.

Good luck [:)]

I've got all their addresses on the V5s. Perhaps I'll write to them. You never know somebody might still live in the same place after all these years. Sounds like Welburn Manor might prove fruitful.

I would also be interested to find out if it started being used in club racing when it changed to white as that's quite a popular colour for that and I know it has been used for this. Wonder how you would pursue that line of enquiry ... any one got any suggestions?

Thanks all for the feedback so far :)

Ian,

Peter Cook (the Club's Archivist) is cataloguing the back history of Porsche Post - I would guess that there might be race reports featuring the car in that time - Peter is normally at Cornbury House on a Monday and Thursday - and also drops in the forum from time to time. Also Steve Kevlin has been involved in club motorsport for a long time - he may well remember those who campaigned her if you give him the names. From this you might be able to work out which Porsche Posts' to start looking through

Could the Peter Morris of Tamworth be Pete who has this year driven a GT3 in the Open? Could get in touch with him if you want. He used to drive on the hills and sprints.

I was just thinking the same thing....

If you would Laura. Be nice to find out. Some research I have been doing indicates the car started to be used in club racing in the mid to late 80's. Think the car started being raced in the PCGB series at that time and has been used on and off in it since.
