A huge "thank you"

Hi all,

After our rainy Sunday, which did seem to get taken up by rather a lot of calls and e-mails [&:], I'd just like to thank everyone who expressed an opinion. The subject is not closed because the thread in question was locked - that is the point of keeping on-topic so we don't lose track of where the conversation started! If anyone has anything new to add, please do start a new, specific thread.

Although every possible different view was forthcoming, the one thing that stood out is that everyone really values this forum, and the people on it. So, I hope that none of you felt so upset with the way it was handled that you don't continue to make this what I think is the liveliest and most informative 944 forum. Please accept that every point has been taken on board. This does not, or course, mean that all the people will be happy all the time!

Lastly, thanks to John Sims for giving up a lot of time over the weekend. (And thank you Belinda for being so patient). Being a moderator means putting your head above the parapet sometimes, and that can leave us feeling a little unloved....[:)]

My biggest complaint has always been that I don't get enough feedback from people. Well, you've corrected that one, and I appreciate the input.

[&o] Shucks!

There's nothing like a good debate to get the blood coursing through the veins.

Not that the idiot BMW driver I met Sunday morning would have appreciated it, had I dragged him from his car and beaten him to a pulp, for pushing me over the brink. []

Sounds juicy. Please tell all John [:D]

Well you asked:- [;)]

Local shop has single width service road to car park at rear. The entrance to this road is across a pavement.

I pull off the main road and stop half on the pavement to let a couple of pedestrians pass (they don't appreciate you running them over in these parts). At the other end of the service road man in BMW can see me but is leaving the car park.

Instead of waiting so that we can pass in the car park BMW proceeds down the service road. Because I am half on the pavement there isn't enough room for him to pass me at the end of the service road so I would have to reverse into the oncoming traffic onto the main road (which you shouldn't do anyway), except I can't because cars have run up behind me. They can't pass me because they are too tight to my rear, and they can't pull out anyway because of oncoming traffic.

Nob in BMW refuses to reverse and so we have stale mate; until cars behind me can move, so that I can reverse back onto the main road, so BMW driver can continue without engaging reverse.

If I had been half a second earlier, and in the service road rather than with my rear out in the main road, I'd have got out of the car and left him jammed in the car park while I bought the paper.

Sorry Paul, I guess we should have started another thread [:D]

Blimey! Some people are so obnoxious once they get in a car []. Had a similar thing this morning when going over a hump back bridge, the oncoming car should have given way but forced itself through.
Bet this doesn't happen when you're in Fifi. :ROFLMAO:

You'd be surprised. I have to get out sometimes to check it hasn't been equipped with some hi tech cloaking device that makes it invisible to other road users (predominately ones in BMW's).

This is all getting a bit sad.My daily driver, the BMW is driven like a Porsche, our two Porsches are also driven like Porsches;the BMW will blow away most other normal cars and some Porsches so where do I stand?
