A little fettling...

Having almost parted with the 3.2 in the last two weeks, but decided to hang on to it after all, I've booked it in for a few jobs to try and improve responsiveness. I've always thought it felt less responsive than my SC, and having driven that car again last week I'm sure of it. The 3.2 is quicker, engine stronger, but the throttle response is not as direct.

First job is to have the injectors cleaned out. Second is to remove the air con pump (never used, will save a few pounds) and cap off the hoses. Also fuel filter and plugs being changed - not sure when these were last done.

Any other suggestions for improved running?

Cheers

Hi Martin,

Had a few sniffs so far!

I believe the 930 is a specialist buy, no hurry my end.

btw - talk to 9M re; mods for the 3.2. They have some good advice.

Cheers

1) Optimax
2) 4 or 5 x 24 mm holes at the lower section of the airbox lid
3) New rotor arm - Eurocarparts
4) New Distributor Cap - as above
5) Steve Wong Chip click here
6) Valve Clearances
7) Drive.

Agree with Steve,
Tappets would be my first port of call.
While at the tappets, check the rocker shafts & rockers for excess movement. Mine has this problem, need to replace the shafts.
Also check the fuel damper valve on the RH fuel rail, under the air-cleaner box - can become sticky and oily.

This may seem obvious, but are your sure your throttle is opening all the way? Slack often builds up in the system over time - it's a common problem, very easily solved.
