can any tell me

I've purchased new porsche body panels from Porsche with the black E coat finish does this need to removed before welding or is it a weld through primer

Thanks[:)]

Interesting Q .Long shot , If you can contact a Porsche repair centre and pose that same Q ?
If it is a normal brand new VW panel , and it comes in a black primer ? You can weld the seem without have to go to bare metal , but get better results if you first clean the area to bare metal .
Once you have completed the weld and applied seem sealer if needed ?
Spray the area with good primer to prevent the metal weld from rusting.

My brain is not working correctly today ! Forgot to mention that with paint on the panels ? You will not be able to get a good earth ?
So you will need to sand down to bare metal on some part of the panel to attach the welding clamp ? If you clamp to primer paint it will not weld ? I am a very basic welder .
Hope this makes sense !
