A new 997tt for under £300?

Well that would be a bargain.

I haven't quite managed that trick, but a few hours at Center Gravity has transformed my 8,000 mile Gen 1 997 tt to such an extent that it feels a different (and much improved) car. The suspension settings were so far out that it is difficult to believe that it hasn't been like that since I collected it when it was new, almost 3 years ago (thanks Porsche and the supplying OPC)! There was no evidence of damage from all the potholes we have around here yet the front and rear wheels were seriously mis-aligned. The front wheels having toe-out instead of toe-in and the rears were experiencing seriously different camber angles.

Chris found many setup errors and the result of his work has produced a car with far lower road noise, more accurate steering, better ride and handling over bumps. The car is now far more predictable and easy to place with confidence. What a pleasure it was to see Chis work in his methodical manner and he explained what he found and what he was doing at each stage. He even spotted an oil leak from a front cv joint (fortunately I have a Porsche warranty) and blew a pile of rubbish out of the radiators with his airline.

I was sceptical (cynical?) of some of the effusive praise heaped on Chris but I can see now that it is deserved. It was a great pleasure to deal with two such really pleasant people as Chis and his wife, Jane, and I will take any Porsche I get - even a brand new one - to Center Gravity to get it properly set up as soon as possible after delivery.

Would we lie to you?!![;)] Mine is booked in a couple of weeks for him to weave his magic - I expect the geometry to be all over the place too after just 5000 miles - if it was ever right in the first place - watch this space[:)]
