A Problem resolved by OPC

My Son's November 2005 2S displayed a fault light and warning message regarding the engine management.

He phoned Porsche Mid Sussex who said 'Do not drive the car, we will have it picked up on a flat bed truck and arrange for a courtesy car'.

The car was promptly collected and a BMW 3 series was delivered within the hour.

The car went into the workshop and the diagnosis was a fault on the disc on the camshaft that relays information to the engine management system.

The camshaft was duly changed as can be seen from the photo below.

The car was susequently road tested and the fault was still showing. Data was sent to Stuttgart and Mid Sussex were asked to check a certain oilway. This was found to be partly blocked and the lack of lubricant had also caused slight scoring to one of the cylinder bores.

In between times Porshe Mid Sussex offered a 997 4S as a loan car.

A new engine arrived from Germany today.

It has been fitted and my son will be collecting the car in the morning.[:)]

I think this is first class service and all credit to Porsche Mid Sussex.

Impressive.............that's bloody fasntastic service and answers anyones question as to wether to have a Porsche warranty or not.

I am not surprised after having my powerkit fitted there. Faultless service all round was my experience.

Keep up the good work boys.
