Took my car into the OPC today for TPM fault and they gave me this as a loan car :-

Its a basic 2.9L Boxster with PDK and Sports Chrono (so has the launch control & Sports+ button).

Now maybe it's just because it's one of most beautiful days of the year so far but this basic Boxster with 255BHP and PDK (compared to my cars 480BHP with sports-shift manual) is such brilliant fun !!!

I owned a Boxster and then Boxster S around 10yrs ago and had forgotton what cracking cars they are !! Obviously doesn't have the outright performance of the Turbo but thats not the point of this car. On a day like today...and once I get my head around the counter-intuitive buttons for the PDK...it's just fantastic [:D]

Just goes to show, there is no such thing as a "Boring Porsche" [;)]

Get out !!! [:)]

I had a loaner and apart from the very different feel of the brakes, absolutely loved throwing it about....
Quite rightly there no such thing as a boring Porsche.. well I guess there's the Panzer in base form [;)]

I had one as a loaner too. Very nice feel on the road but kept waiting for something to happen when you put your foot down! (Standby for all the "but it's so much more nimble than a turbo..blah blah!" comments[;)]) Can't believe anyone is still speccing them without paddles either.

Agree of course.

But when you floor the Turbo its like....how long dare I keep my foot to the boards (counting in secconds)....whereas in this, you can really nail it for what seems like ages without fear of doing ridiculous speeds.

Just priced up a nice spec Boxster Spyder on the configurator...by my reckoning it's more than my car is worth now [&:]
