A sad day.....

Hello everyone,

This week has been a terrible week for me. After taking my 924S to the Nurburgring and Stelvio Pass without a hitch and no running problems. No doubt you'll see more about my adventure in the 924 section in the monthly club magazine.

Unfortunately I had a major car crash last sunday in my 924S hitting a tree, luckly I only suffered bruising and no one else was involved. The rear brakes seized without warning and I skidded sideways into a tree writting the car off. Then later in the week I was made redundant.

All of my three 924's have to go now. Two of them I was breaking down for parts and the other 924 1980 Le Mans that I was restoring has to go too along with my vast collection of Porsche books. Keep an eye out on ebay. My seller id is:- 924s_123

My 924S has now gone to 924 heaven. I did look for another front engine Porsche but with no luck. I do miss my 924S[][][].

Now I have brought myself an immaculate 1980's German car with over 200bhp and with an original price of over £50,000. Its in immaculate condition and one I plan to keep on the road, not into a tree[:)]

Thank you to everyone who has given me advice and welcomed me to the club over the past two years. [:D]

Take care...

Oh my life...

I missed you at Blenheim, wondered where you were, now I know where.

Sean, glad to know you are relatively okay after the crash, this is tremendously bad luck, but as for being made redundant soon after this is literally adding insult to injury!

Things have a way of working themselves out after a bad spell and I'm sure you will be sorted sooner rather than later.
Keep you chin up, stiff upper lip and all that.

Best regards.

Hello Paul,

I will return one day with another 924. I know that I will, In think its in my system. [;)].

I will email you this week about my adventure that I had along with lots of photos.

Cheers and thank you for your time.

Sean.

I'm very sorry to hear of your misfortune & will try to support your ebay activities. You could also do worse than see if one of the monthlies don't want to run your travelogue as a story.

So sorry to see that you met with misfortune. At least you were not badly hurt.

Please remember that metal can be replaced, but humans cannot.

Hope you can find a suitable replacement car soon.

Hello Tam Lin,

Many Thanks, I had a great time in my 924S. I know that I will get another Porsche one day. I was thinking about doing my adventure as a story. A trip I will never forget and no doubt I will repeat.

Hello Julian,

I wasn't badly hurt, just a badly bruised hip.

Not too sure what will be my next Porsche, perhaps when I have payed my mortgage up in ten years time I will get myself a nice Caymen S. At the moment I have just brought myself a gold BMW 635i with mocha leather interior in mint condition. That will do until I get a Posrche. I just cant resist nice classic retro 1980's cars. The decade of decandance and of course my teenage memories.

Bring back Paul Hardcaste nnnn19, nnnn19.[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Cheers
Sean

Ah I was wondering if you were going to tell us what the new car was, I was guessing an Audi or big BMW.

I must admit as a teenager I was quite taken with the 635 CSi, still got some contemporary road test around somewhere, it's a lot of metal for not much money nowadays.

Have fun and don't forget to finish your 924 travel adventures, please include the cars demise.

Always sad to hear of another Porsche going to that great scrappie in the sky - looks like you were in good company, i spied a Y reg 924 on the Shrewsbury bypass off to the side of the road with the front and back caved in .

Thankfully all have lived to tell the tale.

Hello Paul,

I will send you the story and photo's of the adventure and the cars demise next week.

The bimmer has got a lots of electrics that work and the on board computer that looks like something out of Knight Rider.[:D]

My email address is 924s@live.co.uk. Would be great to stay in touch. I'll send you some photo's of the bimmer.

Cheers
Sean

Ouch!!

That was bad. It is sad when any nice Porsche is written off, but the main thing is your health. Suprisingly these cars are strong for their age. Just more spare parts for people who own a Porsche, keeps them on the road[:)][:)][:)]

Cheers
Sean
