Ever wondered what a dead alternator looks like after it's boiled your battery ?

Sorry to see that Richard , if you don't already have an alternator with an integral regulator you have a choice to now fit one instead of the original item. However I have heard of these giving up the ghost after a few years. My OE Marschall is still going strong after 26 years, indeed I had it rebushed for a fiver during my recent engine refurb. Are you sure it isn't the regulator that has caused your problem?

I'm presuming it is as the guys at JZ have replaced the alternator , battery and a relay which went AWOL *and* a relieved me of a chunk of dosh.

Having been away from the car for nearly two months it was a real joy to get back in it. I'd forgotten what a fun drive it is after tow months of US cars/roads.

Bad luck Richard, sorry to hear of your voltage problems

that car is a great colour though, very nice

Oh - its a pain in the pocket alright. The car has cost me nearly £2K in unexpected bills this summer including having to reinsure the car earlier than planned. I forget it all as soon as I get in it. That *is* the reason people like us love 911's. I'll upgrade this at some point to a 993 but I do wonder what that will be like when I'm still wowed by what my little SC can do in 3rd at 3000rpm. Scary hopefuly[:)]
