[FONT=calibri"]The company is, of course, world renowned for its engineering excellence and was for many years at the very pinnacle of motorsport – not the least Formula 1, where its DFV engines dominated F1 and even now, they are second only to Ferrari in producing F1 engines with the most wins.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

[FONT=calibri"]We saw examples of historic engines and race winning cars on display and, accompanied by our knowledgeable tour-guide, we were taken into areas not accessible to the general public including the engine test beds, the engine build shop, small batch piston manufacturing shop and the new £75m Advanced Manufacturing Centre with its giant robots and CNC machines.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

[FONT=calibri"]For me it was an awe-inspiring and most memorable visit and it occurred to me it would make a very nice Register Trip if there were to be sufficient interest.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

[FONT=calibri"]So if you would fancy a trip to Cosworth in Northampton for a factory tour [FONT=calibri"]at some future date [FONT=verdana, geneva"], please post here - no commitment at this stage and if there are enough of us, I will make enquires about getting something organised.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Very interested in joining in Clive.

Keitch Duckworth wrote the story of the DFV, the book is called " Such Sweet Thunder" - a great read.

I remember well the Register visit to Prodrive was a great experience, and am very interested in trip to Cosworth please.

Hi there.

I'd be interested in this. But as a non-member is the invite open to me?

I will be joining PCGB when I get my Cayman this year, just don't want to jinx it by joining before I've got a Porsche.

Thanks,
Richard.

Hi Richard,
You can join PCGB now even though you don't yet own a Porsche. [:)] Otherwise, perhaps you can come along as the guest of a member.
Eligibility for these tours is one of the privileges of belonging to the Club.
Regards,
Clive.

Thanks to everybody for responding to this project. [:)]
There are clearly enough people interested to make it worthwhile putting a visit together.
The next step will be for me to contact Cosworth and obtain some potential dates.
I will report back once I have more news. [;)]
Regards,

Clive.
