A wing, a wing. My Kingdom for a ....

Chaps,

Have been kicking my heels whilst waiting for a few parts for my 2.7 to arrive at my dealers, only to be let down on delivery dates twice. Just a simple question - how long does it usually take for a a couple of body parts to arrive from Deutschland ?

As much as I enjoy driving around in their Fiesta I'm kinda missing my car after nearly 8 weeks, and so todays news that I'm going to have to wait another 4 weeks because "its on back order" miffed me a tad. Should I contact Mr Thatcher now & mount a search & rescue mission [:D], or is this par for the course ?

Appreciate any recon you can provide.........

Had the same painful experience when my car was being repaired after a bit of wet weather action. The approved repairer kept on saying that it would be ready in a week, and then on chasing them up said they were waiting for a part and hence were put back by x amount of time. Eventually chased it up by emailing the parts/service dept at my OPC. Not exactly sure how much of a difference this made (part became available in a couple of days), but worth a try anyway.

Good luck, I know how frustrating it is (at least your not missing the summer like I did!).

Nick

Not sure it's possible if its an insurance job, but you could try Jasmine for a genuine wing - they source from German OPCs and normllay carry stock

Sorry "or glad" to report that my wait was only 6 weeks although it felt like 6 months.

It also went back twice to get the job done properly.

JCB..

Thanks for the feedback - at least I know I'm not on my own.

I suppose the upside to this is that I can treat myself to a spot of skiing from all the money I've saved in petrol over the last few months [;)] - should make the time pass a little bit quicker.
