AA Breakdown Repair Cover

I was just looking into taking out Porsche Assistance for 1 year as I won't be taking out the Porsche Extended Warranty, when I stumbled across the AA site.

They are offering something very interesting, as an AA member, you can pay an additional £69.50 a year for what they call breakdown repair cover.
This covers repairs of up to £500 a time, with a £25 excess. (Upto 5 claims a year)
It covers the whole engine (apart from the exhaust)

The best bit is that you get to nominate which garage it goes to! So you can ask for it to go to Porsche I assume!

Not bad hey?? and fantastic value....or am I missing something??

I don't see the £500 making a big impact if anything substantial did fail.. I can't think of many things that haven't/wont cost £500 to fix to be fair.. probably a battery?
Otherwise I think its a nice addition for the very little outlay.

As I understand the Ts and C's......they will pay out up to £475 (minus £25 excess) on any value claim...so if the bill came to £800, that £475 reduction would come in very handy!
