I got in the car this morning and, out of habit (due to last year's soft-top drain blockage episode) I felt the floor behind the passenger seat to find it was sopping wet!! I was gobsmacked as I check the drains every time I wash the car. The car had just had a major service 2 days ago; so, once I got over the initial shock, I was livid - the OPC is supposed to check them during a service (according to Porsche UK). After I calmed down I saw it was much less of a flood than the last one that ruined the ECU under the passenger seat, so I spent 45 mins soaking it up and I'm pretty sure it didn't reach the ECU. I'll take the wife's hairdryer to it later, just in case. Anyway, next step was to sort out the drains, so I pour some water in under the clam-shell to find that it all drains away perfectly. Then it occurred to me!: we had such a down-pour 2 evenings ago that our kitchen drains backed up and I'm 100% certain that the same down-pour had filled the soft-top stowage area quicker than the drains were able to empty. So, I'd advise anyone that had their car outdoors during one of the recent tropical storms to go and check behind the passenger seat. What a design flaw - surely it would make more sense to have the soft-top seal on top of the various panels instead of tucking away underneath them.

Very unlucky!
Was it the ECU or Alarm control unit that was ruined as I don't think the ECU is located there?

Might've been the alarm unit - the initial symptoms were doors unlocking and boots unlocking of their own accord but it did eventually prevent the car from starting, but then that was probably the immobiliser. Whatever it was will cost you £800 to replace (thankfully Porsche UK were feeling generous on that occasion).
