Hi, I'm new to this forum. Love cars - current XJ, + TVR Chimaera, + Mini. XJ (diesel) up for replacement. Instant love of Cayenne - great to drive, comfortable, refined, a little 'different'. Placed my order for diesel version. Now I'm struggling over spec. Any pointers, no-no's, obvious omissions, please let me know. Dealer OK with info, but I'm not certain he doesn't just want me to order everything on the flippin' list!!

Diesel
Silver
Espresso natural leather, Alu trim
Sports seats (best comfort?)
19-inch turbo wheels (do thaey affect the ride? The test car had 20's on it and I thought it pretty 'sensitive'. Mind you, I guess most cars do cf XJ?!)
Air susp (I ferry crumblies around sometimes, height adjustment will make it easier for them to get in/out?)
Bi-Xenons
Powerliftgate
PCM, telephone module, uni aud intfce
Park heater (always outside)
Heat-ins laminated glass (more peaceful?), heated windscreen
heated seats

I have until early Feb(-sh) to commit. Any comments?? Any issues with natural leather??

Cheers folks

PW

Just order what you think you will use and need .
When it comes to selling it the dealer will not
compensate you for the spec but will probably
give you preference over a low spec example .

Visually Cayenne very semsitive to size of alloys fitted... my spec would be for the 21 Sports Design alloys... but it will not be to everyone's taste...

Your choice of options are nice... (but I dont like silver cars !)

That's a pretty good spec.

IMO new Cayenne is less dependent on big wheels for aesthetics and 19/20" will probably be most popular. Ride/handling, especially with air/pasm, is sensationally good. Probably worth going for nco 'all season tyres'.

Pre-heater is brilliant and worth every penny. Dynamic headlamp system very clever. Seat options add to the cost, worth comparing the relative merits of 'standard', 'sport' and 'comfort'.

Haven't seen the new Cayenne in Silver, always looked a bit bland on the earlier version imo. But the brown leather would complement it well.
Nice spec, only thought might be the sunroof which is a nice piece of kit, with a sliding inner lining to give best of both worlds. The Bose system is very good in the Cayenne as well, but make sure you get a spare wheel as well as a bass box in the boot!

I have similar spec , thought when ordering with heat resistent glass a bit of luxury but not a good choice . I didnt realise double glaze makes motorway cruising very quiet . I would also suggest park assist essential and camera worth having . I specked 21in and splashed out on PCCB's , amazing can out brake anything bar GT3 with PCCB . I am doing research on ECU remap , I understand there is a lot of potential for big performance increase [ +30%] any one else had remap done ?

I went for adaptive sport seats, but they are difficult to get in and out of and won't spec them on my next cayenne, they hold you better than the sport seats in my turbo.Power boot is worth while, I also spect air suspension and 21" wheels and the ride is excellent.Panoramic roof is great if you sit in the back !
