I had a look at that car yesterday. I am not sure how 'fastidious' the owner was, as the carpet by the right hand A post is stuck down with silicone the colour of red oxide paint! You can just see it in the photo of the steering wheel/ dash.

I see what you mean :( the made to fit boot carpet put me off :) Funny how little things like that can obscure/prevent a potential sale.

That's a boot mat. I doubt that it was bought new though as they only cost about £25 in the correct colour! Inferior cast 968 Cup wheels too, in place of the original and beautiful forged Fuchs wheels.

I know the previous owner of this car, I actually nearly bought this very one 13years ago before he purchased it.... As for the boot mat cover he fitted it from his previous car (white 944 with navy interior) hence the colour difference. If I remember correctly he sold it about 3yrs ago so don't know its more recent history.

Sold (provisionally) for £5700 + commission i.e. it didn't quite make the reserve.

The inside wasn't in great shape, so I wonder if the auctioneers haven't been driving it for a while?????

I recall he preferred the look of the cups over the forged ones, I think the originals were in need of a refurb and these came along very cheap iirc from Alasdair.
