When I bought my 991.1 C2S 8 years ago, the forum was a super help on spec. Now I am about to buy a 992 Turbo (pretty well specified as standard) any suggestions on "MUST HAVE" options would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Having taken delivery of a 992 Turbo S recently I spent a great deal of time looking at the options. Some were cosmetic and some were useful features. One Must Have feature is the surround parking camera. These are invaluable when judging kerb distance and protecting wheels. Another is front end lift if you have opted for Sports Suspension. Hope this helps, although I opted for many more!

Personally, I wouldn't go for either of those. There's a reversing door mirror mode as standard to guard against kerbing and the front splitter is retractable, so front end clearance is pretty good as standard.

Here's my two penneth worth:-

[ul][*]Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC)£ 2,273.00 - for optimum performance and comfort in all driving conditions.[*]Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) - £ 6,801.00 - for drivers who want optimum stopping power.[*]LED Matrix main headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) £ 1,355.00 - Maximum light performance.[*]Rear wiper £ 245.00 - to see out of the rear window.[*]Lane Change Assist £ 581.00 - for safer driving (particularly motorways).[*]Lane Keep Assist incl. Speed limit indicator £ 749.00 - LKA is rubbish, but the SLI is useful when touring.[*]Porsche Entry & Drive £ 387.00 - For convenience.[*]Seat ventilation (front) £ 749.00 - Spec it once and you'll always have it again![*]Heated GT sports steering wheel in leather - because it's a nice wheel and free![*]Storage Package nets - they're free![/ul]Other options are mostly a matter of personal choice and costs can spiral with Porsche, so some restraint is required. For example I probably wouldn't spec the vehicle documentation folder in matt Carbon Porsche at £ 506.00. [:(]

Nick Murray runs through all the 992 options on YouTube. It's a 1 year old video, but may help you out.

I know where this a beautiful, 1460 mile very highly spec'd 992 Turbo S for sale, with all of the above except storage nets, but also including axle lift plus others if you are interested......it was mine.

I have back and leg issues so had to sell it, but so disappointed, it was a fantastic car and this one is immaculate!!

Oh and I forgot to mention spec the smoker's package too, otherwise you only get 1 power socket hidden high up in the passenger's footwell.

Does smokers package give you an extra 12v socket? Everything I’ve read suggests it gives you a lidded insert for the gadget tray in centre console and that’s it. Has this changed?

Mistakenly I didn't spec it. I thought I would get a power outlet anyway, just as you do in the Macan, but no. [:(]

The configurator describes this accessory as "Pluggable ashtray with lid for centre console storage compartment" so that seems to imply there is a power socket.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your input, but I should have mentioned I want to keep the price down - so Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC)£ 2,273.00 and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) would put the car above my budget. However, will definitely go with LED Matrix main headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) £ 1,355.00, Lane Change Assist £ 581.00, Heated GT sports steering wheel, Sports exhaust and Glass sunroof. Any further comments are much appreciated - Mike.
