ABS cutting in really quick

Hi

Just done a couple of sprint at Curborough today and whilst on track my abs seemed to cut in really quick.
Hardly seemed to get any real braking bite before the pedal started giving my leg some.
Is this normal, it happened on a trackday aswell but I was getting a lot more initial bite than today.
I'm running standard discs, blue pagids and castrol srf.

Thanks

Rob

Thanks Rob

I had the alignment checked, along with ride height etc. New tyres fitted, newish pads and discs.

I think it is bad driving, I have a habit of braking as hard as I can. Did some road testing (on a very quiet road I hasten to add) and from high speed the abs does cut in quickly if I slam the anchors on. If I feed them on quickly the abs rarely cut in and I stopped as quick if not quicker.

Me thinks some training may be in order.

Hi Rob,

I saw your name included on the 'round robin' email for Brunters, so I'm glad to see you got a place. You'll have ample opportunity to test your ABS there next month - if it rains there is a nice river that runs across the braking zone at the end of the straight :)

There's usually a couple of instructors there on hand as well for guidance if required.

Hope to see you there!

Simon.

Did get a place at Brunters but gave it up as the cars going to take all my money up.

No, I not running standard tyres, 45 ratio on the front as opposed to 50's but they should be well within the abs limits.
I was going to play with pressures as well but they didn't get that warm after each turn.
The C4 was spot on on track, felt really planted and no understeer and felt like I had more grip on the circuit than balls if you know what I mean. [:D]
The downsides were my driving!!![] and trying to keep the oil cool in between track time.
