This suddenly came on on the way to work this morning????

It advises me to go to a workshop, ok makes sense. anyone any ideas if this is a serious fault? states ABS and PMS off.

Thanks...

3 likely culprits are:

Brake light switch
ABS Sensor
MAF sensor

If it did it under heavy acceleration, and clears when you re-start the car, it is most likely the MAF. If it is random and intermittent, it is more likely to be the brake light switch. If permanently on, and doesn't clear, then it could be an ABS sensor. Best bet is to get a diagnostic check done, which should tell you for sure.

Thank you Richard.

They tell me it is the brake light sensor so a new one has been ordered and will be fitted next week.

Appreciate your help.

I had a management warning light on my everyday car recently, brake light switch indicated but on checking the obvious both brake light bulbs had blown even though the tailgate led's were still working it threw up a fault....
obviously due to a drop in circuit voltage!!

fortunately didnt go rushing out to buy a new switch & £3.49 cured it.... happy days[:D]
