abs / pdas problem solved ...finally

Hi guys

Finally managed to get my problem solved. Had to replace the pump - managed to win one on ebay for an amazing £87.

This is probably a daft question but here goes.

I can tell the difference now I have abs, but will I notice any difference with the PDAS working during normal road use or is this something that I would only be able to tell if I took it on the track?

cheers lee

Lee,

I have to admit to being a little confused. I'm assuming the pump you are referring to is the high pressure hydraulic pump which sits just behind the front bumper?? This certainly provides the motive force to operate the PDAS system (and the brakes) but, AFAIK, it has nothing to do with the ABS. The ABS (and the PDAS operation) is controlled by the computer attached to the right side of the luggage compartment (on the left when viewed from the front) - but that isn't a pump.

My pump failed last weekend (the one behind the front bumper) and I'm hoping I don't have to replace it, but I've just got that horrible feeling. If that IS the pump you replaced you got an amazing deal on eBay - they retail at £1121 + VAT for a new one!!! I'm just surprised why it would have an impact on the ABS.

To answer your other question, you will probably not notice the PDAS working other than the little orange light flashing from time to time when you go over a bump or give it some beans around a roundabout!!

Dave

Hi dave

I had the abs and pdas warning lights on. I was told that the motor had seized in the abs pump (the one next to the battery with the green label)..
anyway all is good as I nolonger have any warning lights apart from the fan belt sensor now.

where is the orange light?

where is the orange light?

regards lee

Lee,

The orange light is on the centre console, next to the manual diff lock switch. There is also a green light in the oil pressure/temp gauge which duplicates the orange light but it's supplied from the factory with no bulb in it. I fitted a bulb to mine just out of interest and it's surprising the number of times it flashes on over bumpy roads etc.

Glad you got your alarms fixed. I've got to sort mine now!!!

Regards

Dave
