ABS / PSM fault

I have a problem with my 996 C2 2000 'W' which is when accelerating once the rpm reaches 5000 the warning lights for both the ABS and PSM come on. The system always resets once I have stopped and removed the key and restarted and until the lights come on the system works perfectly. I don't drive the car hard at all however it is annoying knowing that something is not right. Any help would be most appreciated.
P.S. It has been suggested that it may be a problem with the air mass sensor, does this sound likley?

I had a vaey similar problem to this with a 2001 C4 - although the dealer was unable to fix the problem during my ownership I have since learned that the fault in my car was eventually traced to a faulty brake light switch - however during the investigations I did get a post from someone in the US who had a similar problem which was indeed traced to the air-mass sensor - the lights on mine only came on the first time I braked and would not always reset upon re-starting.
Hope this helps
Dave
