ABS warning light

My Boxster's ABS warning light has started coming on intermitently. I'm guessing its a sensor problem. Has anyone experienced anything similar and what did you discover?

Probably one of the sensor wires with a bit of water in the connection - its a case of unplug , check/clean, and refit i'm afraid. Use of pressure washers doesn't help.

I got Ray Northway to plug his computer into my car since I was having something simular and he found it was only the front drivers side sensor. I have now got Northway to replace the sensor and it only took them 30 minutes. All now working fine.

Ok I've unplugged and cleaned each of the sensor connector plugs but I've still got my intermitent ABS light on, so I'm guessing its an actual sensor thats playing up. Next task is to identify which one. Am I right in thinking the car has to be plugged into a computer to tell me whats up or is there another way? Any ideas gratefully received as the MOT is fast approaching.

Am I right in thinking that an OBD2 code reader would do the job? I may have access to one of these.

Ok after a lot of messing about, I've come up with the right answers to my original question: there is no real option other than to go to a dealer with the correct device with which to read the ABS error codes (an OBD II code reader is no good) and this will identify which sensor is playing up. The real fun starts when you try and remove the offending ABS sensor (the front n/s was stuffed on mine): firstly the little bolt that holds it in place is prone to seizing and then the actual sensor gets crushed in its housing making it a real pig to remove. The specialist who did mine (Brian Millar in Edinburgh - top bloke, by the way and highly recommended) used an oxy-acetelyne torch to destroy and burn out the old sensor, which he says is fairly standard practise with these. The costs: £98 for a new sensor and £140 for diagnosis and replacing the old sensor. Certainly not a diy job in any case.
