Acceleration delay

Any ideas; My C2 has just developed a slight fade/delay for about a second or so on acceleration. Feels like clutch slip, then take up. But I don' t think that' s the problem, there' s no burning smell or friction noise. (I had new clutch 30,000 miles back.)

Autostrasse, did a test run this morning. Definately the clutch, I have booked in to have a new one fitted on the 6th March.
Should get the third brake light fitted at the same time, it' s at the paint shop at the moment.

Hi Ken,

Sorry that it turned out the expensive route. Will Autostrasse be looking at the Flywheel? or has this been replaced before?

Might be an ideal time to check it as the clutch is out, could save on time in the future.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
The Flywheel was replaced last time so should be OK. I have asked Alan to have a check around while they are working on the car.

Cheers

I have been told that between 20,000 and 40,000 is the norm.
so my 30,000 falls in between.

I Guess that must mean mine has gone for ever then, the original was replaced at just over 60k. Hopefully I won' t need to replace it soon.....94k and counting.

Kevin

I have put two polls on the 964 Forum asking for details of the miles travelled before having a first Clutch replacement and also a second Clutch replacement.

After we get some results back on this, I will present another poll to find out the effect on the life of the clutch, by Track Day use.

[8|]Please participate in the polls, only takes about five seconds !

Have you got this worked out yet, Ken?
Was it the clutch?

Yes Ken,
What makes you SURE it' s the clutch?
John

On driving the car, I could feel the clutch slipping, this was confirmed by Autostrasse. Taking it in next day for the replacement.

It was Clutch Slip.[:(]
Had a new clutch fitted by Autostrasse Coggeshall Essex.
Pleased to report that when they took the under tray off, there were no Oil leaks from the engine. I did have an Oil pipe replaced though.
Very successful job and on the short run I did this afternoon, the car really does feel good.[:D]

So a new steering wheel next, I' m waiting for simon@essentialstyling.com to hopefully get me something a little bit special for me.[:)]

Hi Jeff,
Many years ago when was in the RAF, the Salvation Army used to supply note paper so that we could write home. The heading on the paper was " Let Christ be the answer to your every need" Didn' t know that they did steering wheels as well !
