Help needed please, just bought an 1986 944 couple of issues, most important being that the accellerator pedal sticks flat to the floor when not much pressure is applied,i have looked and the the actual metal rod thats sits in the vertical slotted section behind the plastic pedal is already half way down when the pedal is not depressed, when the pedal is depressed the metal rod goes all the way to the bottom and the throttle sticks flat to the floor.
Also the digital clock doesnt light up in the dark, insignificant compered to the above!!!!!
Thanks
Nick

Your floor will be bent de to being jacked in the wrong place. You need to knock it back to level with a lump hammer just behind the base of the pedal. Seriously.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Does the clock never light up? It should be bright with the ignition and then dim if the lights are on. If it does neither it's probably just the bulb.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Yours must be one of the few with a working clock at all from what I've seen.
Mine lights up OK but doesn't display anything.

Oh don't, Rick - he's getting some slating on BMW Land. They really should burn his license...

Did he not consider the concept of switching the ignition off......?
Well according to these reports "I couldn't turn off the ignition because it would have disabled the power steering and made it even more dangerous." - not sure how he decided that not being able to stop at 130mph wasnt dangerous enough??

Exactly. And he also couldn't put it in neutral as it would "redline and overrev". So he thinks risking his life and that of loads of other people is preferable to blowing up the engine in an 8 year old 4-cylinder 3 series (my guess is a coupe, too). He's a definite self-pleasurer in my eyes.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
