Accident update

After my last posting, I have now put the car on a ramp to assess the damage!

A couple of weeks ago we accidently drove over an unmarked cattle grid. The car hit a small bollard , took off and landed on two wheels []

It would appear that we got off very lightly. The plastic undertray certainly did its job. There appears to be no other damage that the plastic undertray has split [:(]

The sump , gearbox and chassis are intact (big relief[:)])

Also, the rear view mirror fell off!!![]

The car drives ok and there seems to be no engine damage.

In fact, it has been a good exercise to look at the car on a ramp as the general condition is very good for a 20 year old car [:)]

If anyone has a spare plastic undertray please contact me.

A lesson learnt to be very much more careful!!

Sounds like you were lucky [8D]

Regarding rear-view-mirror....... don't waste your time with superglue etc - Doesn't work.

Get yourself some proper Loctite Rear Mirror bond ~ looks like THIS and costs approx £5 from Halfrauds.

Comes with a "cut to size" spacer mesh which seems to be the secret ingredient...... works a treat (although it does sound like a prop from the Simpsons..... like when Bart has detention and he's seen polishing the globes in Geography with "Globe Wax" [:)] )
