Hi All,
Doing Silverstone with PCGB next week, dont fancy driving down from Cheshire in the a.m. so any recommendations for somewhere to kip the night before?

Principal requirement is decent parking!

Thanks,
kevin.

This isn't on the doorstep but about a 20/30 minute leisurely drive through some pretty villages across country to Silverstone and located in Enstone the same village as the Renault F1 HQ. I haven't been there with the Boxster but would have no hesitation using the car park again which is well off the road hidden at the rear of the property. My brother lives in the same village and we stayed there a couple of years ago. It is a charming building which is built sideways to the main road - don't be put off by first impressions from the road. Their breakfast will set you up for the day. You enter through the doorway down the driveway not the front door. The website doesn't do it justice. Oh and mind the speed cameras in the area.

Try the Vine House at Paulesbury - good food, small no. of rooms - meeting place of the RR owners club

or the The Kingshead, Syresham more basic on the same road as the Green Man.

both on the web I think.

You are going to have to go for the little-known places. All the chains are booked solid - and have been for some time.

Try a search on LateRooms.co.uk to find places that actually have vacancies

We had a similar problem last Friday, would normally stay at either the Green Man (Premier Inn) or the Travelodge at Towcester, former burnt down, latter fully booked!

There is a B&B at Towcester which is pretty good: www.jubileehouse.co.uk, there's also The Brave Old Oak and the Saracen's Head in Towcester (parking not so good for those two) and the Travelodge at Towcester.

Last Thursday we stayed at the Premier Inn at Harpole (Northampton West), which is just off J16 of the M1, about 14 miles from the circuit (took us 20 minutes towing) and there is loads of space for parking with a trailer... that should have availability.

I know a woman who puts people up (instructors usually) in the village at Silverstone, but it's just a house and parking would be a problem.

Hope that helps!

I think Kevin means the trackday on the Tuesday after the Classic?

Chris,
Really looking forward to it but will be off the pace away from my home track :)

Any chance of a few pax laps to get me in the groove?

Cheers,
kevin
