ACE CAFE - 29th August 2007 - An Idea!!

So the monthly ACE cafe meet falls on the 29th this month

I wondered how many would be up for driving down to the London eye afterwards parking up front and getting some nice photos?

Having a quick look on google earth it would take us past;

Hydepark
Piccadilly Circus
Trafalgar Square
Palace of Westminster
Finishing in Belvedere Road

Where we can park up not so legally and grab some spectacular night shots like this one.

Nice idea and its on my way home! Hope its not a red route as I've spent my budget for those tickets......but I'd be up for it

Sounds like a plan Simon, I'm in and we'll definitely get people tagging on at last minute from Ace...

...and here is something more to keep you distracted from your world domination plans: October meet is on Halloween day... <insert evil laugh here>

What's that you say Simon? A convoy through London on a lovely summer evening? stopping for a photoshoot at a great venue? As long as I'm not following Karl, that sounds like a plan.

Please feel free to drag the route for alternate streets this is just to start things off; you can copy the link on google maps by clicking on link this page:

Please print the final map if you are not familiar with central London, as with the number of traffic lights, we are bound to break up into smaller groups. Please do not stop/wait for others on red route which is pretty much everywhere in central London.

A quick brush up on your highway code [;)]:

e.g. Westminster Bridge is a double red route and there is no stopping at any time.

No stopping during the times shown on the sign and a lot of these operate till midnight, so best to not stop at all. A lot of the bus lane also are operational till mid-night. I have driven a fair bit in central London in the evenings, and this is not to scare you off, just something to stop you getting unnecessary fines.

In short, you will break up at traffics lights; just carry on and follow the route.

Simon will give an update on parking in and around the eye but worst case we can park along Waterloo Bridge which is free parking by the time we will get there. See you tomorrow...

Love it, count me in, what time are we expecting to leave the ACE?

We'll have to improvise on this one; being a nice day there will be a lot of Porsche crowd at Ace till late who may not want to come along for the ride. So don't be too surprise if we are still at Ace by 10:30-11pm. Ace closed at 11pm.

It was another ACE evening! Fantastic turnout and great to see lots of new faces and swap stories with everyone.

Special thanks to Simon for organising the convoy to the London Eye and Waterloo Bridge! We had about 20 cars convoying through London!

Sadly my camera ran out of power before I could get everyones photos on the bridge, but here are some snaps of the evening...

What a great night, nice to see some familiar faces and what a lovely array of Porsches to look at.

The convoy after the ACE was a brilliant idea, perhaps we should think about arranging one every quarter - there are plenty of places in and round London worth a late night drive to/through.

Regards

Great pictures, just as you promised Kish. Shame we couldn't join you, but looks like you all had fun.

It was a great night and thanks to simon for the suggestion.

look forward to seeing you all at Ragley Hall.
