Ace Cafe - Boxing Day

In case anyone is looking for a reprieve from the Turkey or battling shoppers at Tescos, don't forget that there is a meet at the Ace Cafe on Boxing Day from around 5pm onwards. Some may get there earlier, so feel free to rock on by. Parking in the car park is reserved for Porsches.

The Ace Cafe is located one junction east of Hanger Lane on the A406, North Circular. It is on the opposite side of the road of the D-Link building.

A Personal Note:

It seems a few of you may have recently received some false information about me and my role as RO for London. I can confirm that I am still the RO for London and am fully committed to the region. It was a tough year for me with a change of job, my dad's ongoing battle with cancer, and major house renovations seemingly all at the same time. However, I look forward to 2008 with renewed enthusiasm and the hope for lots of new things to come.

I'd like to say thanks for everyones' support throughout 2007: in particular those members who raised their hand with an idea/suggestion, and also those stepped forward to make it happen for everyones benefit and enjoyment. I really hope that 2008 will see even more members' participation and support in a variety of events including roadtrips, meets, trackdays, etc. At the end of the day, the club is about the amazing cars we drive and being able to share our enthusiasm and enjoyment of them with one another.

As always, I hope to hear from you with new ideas/suggestions/etc. The more who step forward to help, the more events we can successfully organise as a region.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone! [:)]

Best regards,
Adrien

Thanks for the fantastic fun filled reminders of 2007 and I wish you and all your family a happy and healthy 2008

Keep up the great work all you guys have done for the region to date [;)]

Best regards

Thank you for the hard work.

I think its good to remember that the officers are here to help R20 members set up events and such. So if you have an idea its always worth asking the R20 officers to lend a hand to help get the ball rolling.

Its been my first year in PCGB and its been a good one ty

SPOT ON Simon! [:)]

If any member has an idea or wants to do an event, raise your hand and mention it! Some great examples of this this past year were the French day trip (thanks Matthew Purser), the Prodrive Day for driver training (thanks Simon), the suggestion to drive to Beachy Head (thanks to Karl Lodwick), and also Wings'n'Wheels (thanks to Paul Casha).

I'm really keen that R20 does events that the members want to do, and that an RO do whatever we can to help facilitate such events for the benefit of everyone. We may not be able to do every event, or sometimes not every event is well signed up to thereby having to cancel certain planned events (eg, Champagne trip in Sept). So if there is a question that asks for a commitment to an event "yes/no" with a set date, please don't say "maybe"! Logistics mean that we need a confirmed "yes" to give us assurance that the trip can/will happen with enough members to make it worthwhile.

Looking forward to all your suggestions for the coming year [;)]

So how many are planning to make it to the Ace tomorrow? I'll most likely take a drive over. Cheers

I am planning to be there following a family outing to the Midlands... hopefully I'll be back in time for around 6'ish.

TBH, I'm not sure if there will be many because of the holiday season, but I'm looking at the evening as a good break from Christmas crackers, too much red wine, and Christmas movies! Would be good to meet and kick a few tyres. [:)]

Just to add another £0.002's worth, I don't tend to get along to too many of the R20 events either through bone idleness or more pressing duties, but I appreciate those that I do get to. I don't know the background for any sniping that is going on in R20, but for my money Ade and indeed Kish do a great job and I am constantly amazed at their enthusiasm. I for one will try to make more of an effort in 2008, idleness and more pressing duties permitting. Happy New Year chaps. [:)]

I would just like to thank both Kish and Adrien for a fabulous year both equally hard working and very very supportive to the Region....thanks Guys.......

Yeah team effort! Thanks Des for all your help in so many ways. Bromley, Fatboys, Ragley, Silverstone Classic, etc to name but a few.

Now, several people were keen on doing an overseas roadtrip... any volunteers to step forward to help plan the trip? We need 3 volunteers: 1 to determine the route, 1 to cover accomodation, 1 to identify socials/enroute events. I'll cover the rest of the admin, travel bookings, advertising and logistics.

I've already had a few chats with Darren at Total Adventures who were going to suggest a grand itinerary for us - we could always consider using them instead of a DIY trip. Time for a new thread...

It's been an outstanding 2007 for the London region [:)]

Thanks to the efforts of Kish, Ade and Des there was plenty to do this year, ably assisted by the usual suspects (you know who you are.....)

Here's to an even better 2008.

Happy New Year to all and sundry [:D]
