ACE Cafe December

944 LIL

Is there a meet this December? By my reckoning it should be on Hogmanay ?

If not, when is the next one - I'd quite like a couple of experts to cast their eye over LIL....

I'd guess not, the next listed is the first Saturday meeting in January. Sadly I can't make it, as Saturdays are pretty much always family time....[&o]

Hi Colin,
Ace will be open for on New Years Eve and are happy to give priority to Porsches in the compound between 6 and 7pm but thereafter they need to clear the place up for a big New Years Eve party open for all and entry by ticket only; please see the following if you want to attend the party:
http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/event_view.aspx?event_id=794&date=31/12/2008%2000:00:00

PS: This party has no links to our Porsche meet and from previous polls in the London region Sub-forum there wasn't much interest in Porsche owners attending for that one hour.

For details about the new Saturday meets from 2009 see:

See you at Ace!

Kish

Hi Paul,
One of the reason in favour of accepting the Saturday slot was a lot of Porsche owners wanted their family to attend too (especially kids) and Wednesday workday was not kids or family & friends friendly... so please feel free to have one of your family time slot at Ace maybe once a year...The July 2009 Saturday meet will be a lunch time BBQ.

Being selfish it's a shame it's on a Saturday next year, I used to enjoy it mid week (even if I've been rather too busy to make the last couple), but I doubt I'll be able to make Saturdays [:(]

Hi Kish - I'll certainly be there for the bbq, but won't be able to make many others.

To me, Porsche nights have tended to be a lot of blokes talking about cars and have always been midweek. I've not persuaded Jane that it's her sort of thing...[&o] but if there's something special happening, like the PC Hatfield evening or the Ace bbq then there's enough of interest to drag her out. I can't see us cancelling our friends coming over for dinner, or not going away for the weekend, just for a Club night at the Ace.

Midweek is fine for me, but with all the weekend events like Frontrunner, Cotswold Rally, Blenheim, Silverstone etc. that I'm already giving up time for then I think Saturday nights are not going to be ideal. Of course, there are sure to be plenty of other people who couldn't make the Wednesdays and will come on Saturday.

Don't forget, Colin, that the open day at Cornbury House this Sunday will have loads of 944 owners attending. Whether they're experts is another matter...[;)][;)]

Ditto

I only come down to the Ace about 2 or 3 times a year for the midweek meets and I suppose it'll be roughly the same for the Saturday ones too (hopefully they will finally finish the Luton M1 widening next time I go [:)])

I will be at Cornbury on Sunday though (in my own LIL, common as muck we are :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:)
