Yep, sounds good to me. At the moment I'm up for it as will probably be a mate who has an'88 E reg 911 sc 3.2. We'll be travelling from Huntingdon and Newport Parnell respectively, probably meeting at toddlington services on the m1

Morning chaps....I'm contemplating a visit to the Ace Cafe next Porsche meet...I can't promise my attendance as the car is having a lot of work done over that weekend and you never know when taking old things apart (in this case rear torsion bar) what stubborn bolts one may come across but I'm pretty confident that the old girl will be back together in time. So is anyone else here planning to attend for this months meet next Monday?, if so it would be good to meet up and say Hi and it's always good to have a few 944's present....

Pete

I'd have been there in a flash to see the rebuild Pete but alas we are off on our hols this weekend - sorry [&o]

ORIGINAL: T3rra Why don't we do are own little meet? Sunday or sat?
I'm happy to meet up over a weekend somewhere, can't do this weekend though as the car will be on ramps all weekend... Pete

Sorry, I've got to cry off this meet as I've got an appointment with the police....won't go into details other than to say be careful if you have 14 year old daughters who use Facebook, and people grooming! So it's the next meet for me.... A specific 944 meet will be good, for info there's a reportedly good classic car show that R24 go to at Kimbolton in Bedfordshire, I think on the 12th July.

not to worry Mike, another time...hope all goes well for you with the police and daughter...i took a look at the Kimbolton event, that looks like a lot of fun and certainly up my street...I wonder if it's too late though to get in with a classic car, i note that R24 state they have room for 50 cars so space is limited..shame as a few of us southerners could possibly have met up for the drive there... i would have been up for it.. Pete

Hi I work quite near Aces so what time for???, With a bit of luck I'm tackling that common leak from the oil cooler getting the parts by friday just waiting for a Germany back order to supply just one shim and have also asked Alasdair for loan on his OPRV align tool. I may delay it though even with the engine bay cleaned down chasing this leak and manifold nuts soaked in WD40 ....so imagine starting her up to drive instead[:)]

Hi John The evening starts from 6pm...unless there's any issues with the car over the weekend I plan to be there early, certainly before 6pm.. cheers Pete

I can't do the Ace regularly as it clashes with something else on Mondays. I'm also car-less as the 944 is in for it's annual "you thought you had some money left in the bank" service! [] Could we try to arrange a month where a load of us go? The London team would give us a bit of help, and I'm sure we could line up the 944s along the front for a great photo? Perhaps July or August. [8|]

Me too now for another day meet. ....I have a non running 944S I reconnected the PAS switch and have fried the DME loom[&o]

Hi guys

well I made it to the Ace, saw a few 944's but I don't know if they belonged to anyone here?, no turbo's ...it was a great night with a lot of Porsche's present, more than I remember from the past. I had a few admiring comments on the car, I then got talking to a visitor who likes his Porsche's, he's a mechanic so was interested in my car and asked to see under the bonnet. well once I lifted the bonnet it was like 'bee's to the honey' many questions on the car spec. I also had a few offers to buy the car plus a guy with a very nice 928, not sure on model as i know little about these cars..it was H reg and had a big wing on the back so i guess one of the GT models who tried to persuade me to do a swap...:) It seems that these cars are indeed becoming a much sort after car, especially the turbo's...during the various chats during the evening I was told by the 928 guy that he had been looking for a 944T for a while and how prices are rocketing...he had looked at average examples at around £7k some time ago....same cars now £15k and a good one costing over £20k..seems the media reports of late about these cars doubling in value in the last 6 months and expected to double again in the next 6 months may have some value to them....makes no difference to me....she's not for sell!....:)

Pete

PS: it was good to see Rick there...recognised a few faces but alas none of the 944'ers from the good old days, next time perhaps....
