Ace Cafe Porsche meet 27/12/04

hey that's this evening!, but I have just come back from the best burger restaurant, in Chiswick!

Can I do two in one day?

blummin working (again )

I'll see you guys there one day

We had a realy good evening as well with 4 944's and two 944 owners who couldn't bring their cars.

We even managed to prise PSH's bonnet open - though it didn't take too much encouraging. [:D]

Even better news - Mr & Mrs Bennett, a couple who know a good car when they see one, are looking to make a return to the 944 fold. [:)]

Off topic a bit, but due to a 'Javascript error' problem, I can't make a new post on this pooter, so........

E reg 944 -weight distribution. Is it really 50:50?

Why? I've got to trailer a dead one this week that's parked nose in to a parking space, so hope I can drag it on backwards and not have to turn it around to have weight at front of trailer.

Looking forward to your replies!!

Just drag it on and if the trailer looks a bit rear heavy slap a few bags of sand in the boot!!!

I don't know, but I would assume that the weight distribution is assesed through corner weights compared to actual centre of mass. As spring rates will change corner weight readings I would further assume that there is greater mass at the front, but this is just a guess.

My Westie had 50:50 weight distribution based on corner weights - granted with me in the car - but I always put it onto the trailer nose first as it was obviously "heavier" at the front.

Thanx John -I was afraid somebody would say that!! Guessed as much. Towed a D-reg 944 to Wales last year, one of the easiest tows and loaded nose first.

Oh well, I'll have to drag it out and turn it around then! [&:]
