Ace Monday 30th

Are the usual suspects (or any new faces) up for the Ace tomorrow?

I'll be there in my 964, originally intentionally but now by necessity as the hearse has developed a hot start problem that I'm beginning to have to accept is worn injectors (£200 each and of course there are 6 of them... [&o]). Unfortunately I only got it back from service at 7pm tonight so although it's like a different car for a good looking at (and decat pipe) I have hardly seen it in the 2 weeks I've owned it and haven't even had time to clean the windows never mind fit an RDS wireless and the Cup1's I have in the garage.

Subject to my current project going as it should, and everybody doing what they should when they should do it, I'll be there.

I have never been to the Ace Cafe events and wonder what format it is and what time it starts? Is this evening mainly for Porsches?

It's mainly scruffy 3-series BMWs with too-big alloys and retro-fit "angel eyes" lights though it's billed as German Performance night.

I've only been once, but format is that we arrive and park together and then disassociate ourselves from the BMW crowd by means of actually going inside the Ace and buying a drink/some food. We then chat until it's time to go home. I think arrival starts around 7pm, but I'm tight to make it quite that early.

A very accurate review from Fen.

I would suggest that you get there as early as you can so as to secure a prime parking position. The later you arrive the more likely you are to find the car park full and have to park on the street.

The local "homies" used to "big it up" in their "pimped rides" doing doughnuts in the street but, following an accident earlier this year, this has thankfully stopped.

That said (assuming ones car was safely at the back of the car park) there was some satisfaction to be had watching someone bounce his 318 of the rev limiter, while smoking one retread tyre. The joy is complete when he returns to the car park with the engine sounding like someone has just emptied a box of nails into sump. Reespec'! [:D]

I was there as was John, Rick, Paul Mc, Len & Sue, Rich & Sian plus some others I didn't know. If anyone I didn't know who posted above was there and couldn't find us I apologise; we should have arranged a way of identifying ourselves ahead of time.

Will LIL be there for the November meeting?
