Anyone here bought or have experience of the carbon fibre strut brace from Advanced Car Products? or any product from them.

Their brace seems a bit lighter than OEM not to mention cheaper and wondered if anyone could recommend.

Thanks.

PS - posted on another forum also.

but would a light strut brace make that much of a difference ?

assuming the price is right ?

Yes, I've been wondering about quality and effectiveness of their products as well. They are an active Ebay seller, which can sometimes be worrying.

Guys,

Advanced Car Products is headed up by Rob Mugglestone - who is also an active participant in Total 911 Magazine. He is also very active at many Porsche events, including track days and owns a very nice dark blue 964 Coupe.

I bought one of his strut braces for our BMW 330i (I already had a brace for the 964) and the quality is very good. The end brackets are extremely well engineered and the bar is a good quality, light carbon fibre.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Regards

Dave

Thanks Dave - spoke to Rob today myself and came away feeling good about the purchase, especially as ACP will take it back if I'm not completely happy.

Sundeep - yeah weight difference is neligable but proper carbon fibre so should look the part plus quite a bit cheaper than oem.

Geoff - looks like they are also sold by Porsche Shop if that gives you more confidence.

I'll report back when mine is on.

Confidence now much higher. It appears they sell direct from their own web site and accept plastic, so no ebay and pay pal fears!

Does make a noticeable difference Sundeep?

obviously I can only speak for the Targa, who's set up is approx 25% less stiff than a coupe

Yes, front end was no longer vague so much more communication, so a worthy upgrade IMHO

add a short shifter and the driving experience was much improved
