Actual 997 C2S performance figures

I am curious to see what the actual 0-60, 30-70 and 0-100mph figures are for the C2S Tiptronic. I know the specs state 5.3 seconds for the 0-60....in my experience with previous BMW's they are always a little conservative with the numbers for legal reasons....E.G so some joker can't sue them if they prove it wrong [8|]

I have searched Google for an actual road test for the Tiptronic in vain and wondered if anyone had seen real tested figures?

I do not know why you want these, but I would not worry about them if you want the figures to compare against another car.
A more real world test is the one Top Gear did on the Isle of Man with an BMW M5, Aston V8 Vantage and a C2S manual. The C2S beat the other cars on a short course by 6 seconds. All down to the chassis and PCCB brakes.

AFAIK, the C2S Tip does 0-60 in about 4.8 secs, similar to the manual, but as I say, not overly important in the real world.

So what is the real figure for the manual?

Ever tried a traffic light drag race with Sports Button deployed and taking off in second? (be careful with feeding the clutch in though)

Depends which magazine you read and what the conditions are and how many pork pies you've monstered recently. Some US magazine (I think Car & Driver) quoted test times sub 4 seconds.

That said I think around the 4.5 second mark is reasonable. Porsche quote 4.8secs to 62mph for the C2S and they are normally conservative. Low 4s if you like replacing the clutch more regularly.

All said, I'm sure we all have extremely well endowed manhoods and compare very favourably with most other marque owners. [;)]

Porsche give the figures for 0-60 and 0-100 in their tequipment manual and their 911 book, buried at back for both.

These represent figures you will get for a best standing start and using the clutch/ Tiptronic as intended. Magazines get their figures by reving the nuts of it and side stepping the clutch or sit on the brake with tiptronic at about 5000rpm, From there on they ignore the clutch and simply wrench the great level across when its time to change up. Techniques change, but thats about the style of it.
