Sat in a 997 with these.

My impression was incredibly comfortable.

What does "adaptive" mean? Do they adapt automatically?

It's just a trendy way to say they have added some new electronic adjustments to the seat function, to better "adapt" to individual requirements. The memory function is also great, it takes so long to get a great position & then some one moves it ~~**##! Memory sort that one..not cheap though.

I tried out the seats at the launch party at Cambridge this week. I thought they were tremendous and have changed my order to include them. The greatest improvement is being able to adjust the seat back and squab bolsters to effectively widen or narrow the seats. I am fairly broad shouldered and find my present sports seats tight across the back which tend to push me slightly forwards. The adaptive seats do away with this problem as well as feeling much more comfortable than the standard seats. pricewise I had already specified electric seats at around £1k, the adaptive seats are £600/700 more so not too bad on price and for me well worth it for comfort.

Test drove two 997's at Wilmslow OPC, one with std seats - one with adaptive.
Got to say that I did not like the adaptive version! Tried numerous settings, but not convinced. Opting for sports seats instead.
