Hi Folks,
Any one been able to compare standard sports seats with the adaptive sports seats, are they really worth the extra dosh?

Haven't done too much 'back to back' testing (apologies for the weak pun.........), but I'm very pleased with my Adaptive sports seats - they are adjustable in numerous ways, and I always feel comfortable and supported, even on long journeys.

As someone that's 6' 2" with a history of back problems, that's a big recommendation!

I had a 996 with sports seats and now a 997 with adaptive. I'm 6ft 1in and 16 stones so need a bit of room in the car. Whilst I always found the sports seats a bit tight particularly the width across my back and shoulders the adaptives seats have no issues at all and are very comfortable. They can also easily adjust for a smaller driver such as my wife. A little expensive maybe but no regrets in specifying them

Thanks guys, appreciate your input, it must be a bigger guy question, as sidicks is 6 ft 2", timhum is 6ft 1" & I'm 6ft 1" -ish!
I am really interested in knowing if they will provide more lateral support than the standard sports seats, because of the adaptive side bolsters! They are for a 997GT3, so won't have the excellent memory function that I believe comes as a standard otherwise, so at £1500 -ish for extra corner support, they need to be good!!!!

They are better than the standard sports seat, although you will fiddle around for a while before you find the best setting.

The alcantara will provide more grip than leather, and a CG-lock will hold you in the seat even more firmly.

But, the lwt buckets are fantastic[8D]

I like the bucket seats, but feel £3,130 is rather steep, particularly as you loose the thorax air bag, the door cubby box & any form of height adjustment without a visit to the dealer and in addition you can't then get into the rear for loading stuff!.

If I was going to track the car a lot them I'd go for the Club Sport pack with the seats as the extra lateral grip is useful & the roll cage will compensate for the missing airbag. But as I intend to use the car mainly on road, I'll give them a miss I think!!??

I like Olivers idea of a CG-lock, are they any good?

Still not sure at nearly £1500 that the adaptive seats are worth it, how much extra bolster support do you actually get? If it retained the usual memory function this would swing it for me , but it doesn't & the motors also add weight!
