Adding Bass to a 993 Cabriolet

I wanted to add some more Bass to my 993 Cabriolet and looked at lots of options.
In the end I installed a new Alpine Head MP3/CD Unit with separate Subwoofer output and control and an Alpine SWD-1600 Active Subwoofer under the Driver Seat.
The SWD-1600 is a very small unit and fits quite well under the seat - although I had to remove the seat and move the Alarm units to make it fit.
The sound quality is now excellent and I would recommend this unit as a worthwhile upgrade.

interesting alternative.... I was looking to put a 6" JL Audio mid-bass speaker under the dash, as there was nothing small enough.. so I might have to check out this new Alpine sub [:D]

just need a place for the multichannel amp !

Not that difficult to place an amplifier. I'm down at Brands both days, so you'd be more than welcome to take a look at mine. Also, for a bass solution, check out the Auto Acoustics website. They do a small cabinet, although you have to be a bit picky about what you put in it in order to get the best results. Again, you'd be more than welcome to take a look. I'm now fully installed, although finding the time to set it up properly is a bit more challenging!!!

Hi,
I've now added a second Subwoofer unit under the Passenger seat - sounds even better.
I had to move the ECU forward a notch to make it fit.

but where is you amp ? and what type do you have ??

I don't have any external Amplifiers.
These units are 150W Active Subs (built-in Amps) - doesn't sound very powerful but they're pretty loud as a pair.
My headunit is 4 x 50W giving a total of around 500W peak output.
