Adding speed trap detector, sat nav and 6310i to 996

Hello all

I'm currently looking to add the following gadgets to my 996:

* speed trap detector (road angel with laser alert);
* hands-free kit for a Nokia 6310i; and
* sat nav.

My guess is that I need to source and install each of these components separately, however if there is a better way to do this on the 996, I'd appreciate any info you have.

With respect to the 6310i car kit, is it easy to hook it up to the built-in microphone in the dash?

Thanks

Humphrey

Snap. I have all three on my 996.

1. I have a Road Angel, which can be easily transferred from car to car.

2. Providing your 996 is pre-2003 you can replace the Porsche CDR 22/23 with the visually similar Becker Traffic Pro Hi-Speed. This is a brilliant integrated sat nav system, radio, CD (uses 6-disc system). Mine has the 2004 Europe wide software and I can't get over how good it is. I've used the latest BMW, Audi and Porsche (PCM1 and PCM2) systems and, apart for less graphics on the display, the voice instructions are more accurate than any of these systems. Sempal (see website) will come and fit it for £950. Takes about 45 minutes. The good news is that you could take it out and put the CDR 22/23 back if you wish. There are no marks or drilling.

3. Sempal also fitted a Bluetooth connection for my Nokia phone. £206 and very neat and discrete.

I prefer to keep my cars original and I don't like any aftermarket modifications. However, I can definitely recommend these items. Oh, and the Porsche Sports Exhaust - fantastic.

Talking about sports exhuast- my 996 (which I will own as from this Friday when I collect it from the dealer ) is a C2 'S' model according to the dealer , who also maintains it has a sports exhuast. Is there such a model as an 'S', and, if so, how does it differ from the standard 996 C2 ?

It also has PMS fitted, which I believe is an option on the C2- is this correct and is it likely to be chosen by many C2 owners when buying their car new ?
Cheers,
SGLB
