I was washing my car at the weekend and one of the porsche centre crests in the wheel fell off. Any suggestions on what sort of adhesive to stick it back on with?
Many thanks,
Tom

Put a thin layer evenly on the back of the crest and on the wheel centre. Let it 'go off' for 10 mins. Push the crest onto the wheel centre - get this bit right first time as you won't get a second chance. Job done.

Hi Tom.

Whichever glue you use I would strongly suggest that you also heavily score the inner surfaces that are to be bonded together as they're both quite smooth - especially the plastic disc side. This'll provide a much more effective 'key'. I just used the sharp edge of a flat screwdriver.

After forking out all that money (for what amounts to about 12 quid's worth of tat) I certainly didn't want to lose another one! [&:]

Tom,

Just be aware that the wheel centres need to be removed when the wheels are balanced to fit them onto the mandrel, so you may be better using a 'soft' adhesive or perhaps a small amount of double-sided tape to secure them.
