Adhesive Front Number Plates

I am thinking of having an adhesive front number plate put on my new Cayman as I think that they look better than the standard plinth and perspex Number plates that the Porsche Centres usually provide.

My dealer is happy to accommodate this and has agreed to leave a front plate and plinth inside the car for me when I collect it, in case I want them fitted at some point in the future.

With this in mind, I was wondering if any of you have experience of using the adhesive number plates and if so can you recommend a supplier?

Many thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin, Highgate House Vehicle Graphics can also provide these. I understand that they can provide them with all of the required dealer information etc on the bottom of the plate. Cheers Colin

Hi Martin,

I hope this finds you in time...

I too have recently been through the process of selecting a stick on vinyl front number plate and think the biggest thing that determines the quality is whether the lettering in subsurface rather than applied to the surface of the number plate.

As Ralphmusic has suggested www.onestopnumberplates.co.uk produce full sized, subsurface and reflective numberplates and I ordered one and can attest to the quality.

However, as we all know the standard British numberplate covers quite a large area on the front bumper and due to the shaping of the front bumper of the 718 GT4 and will not sit entirely within the small flat portion of the 718 GT4’s front bumper (either sweeping forwards on the lip to the radiator intakes, sweeping up over the nose of the bumper towards the bonnet or a bit of both).

Instead I went for a ¾ sized stick on number plate from https://www.fancyplates.com/buy-plates/uk-show-plates/ which is also subsurface, reflective and equal quality to the onestopnumberplates but crucially fits flat on the front bumper.

Hi Tim,

Thank you for your recent message, I have just heard that my car rolled off the production line today, so fingers crossed it should be here in November.

So I think that I have provisionally arranged my insurance and am now looking to sort out my front number plate. I have heard about a firm called Highgate House (www.highgatehouse.co.uk) who produce adhesive plates that include the Porsche Centre logo and details in three different sizes. Standard 520 x 110mm, or 460 x 101mm, and 400 x 101mm.

I really like the look and size of your plate and was wondering if you would mind letting me know what size your plate is?

Many thanks,

Martin

That's great news about your car!

Of course, I'll measure the outer edges of the plate and come back to you in the morning.

Thank you Tim, much appreciated.

I went for a legal full size 7 digit adhesive plate on mine, but then trimmed a little off top and bottom spaces. This was sufficient to take out most of the double curvature which would otherwise occur along the top edge.

Highgate House were excellent. They had the OPC details etc added to the plate. Im very happy and will use them again

Hi Martin,

My adhesive number plate is 385mm x 83mm (outer edge measurement).

As mentioned previously, it is of higher quality than some being that the text is subsurface rather than stuck on the surface.

Hi Tim,

Thank you for taking the time to measure that for me, it is really appreciated.

I’ll get my front plate ordered In readiness...

Cheers,

Martin

As well as a call from my Porsche Centre to say that my car has arrived at the port in Grimsby, my three quarter size adhesive number plate has arrived from Highgate House and I must say that it looks excellent, it even includes the Porsche Centre logo and postcode.

I can’t wait to stick it on and get driving my new car, I’m really looking forward to the Cayman mid engine experience.
