Adjustable Steering Column

Mine was seized too, follow the column under the dash, with one hand move the lever and feel along untill you get to where the column clamp is. (even a minute amount will reveal the join), copious amounts of wd 40 , keep working the lever and tapping with soft hammer will eventually free the blighter..

will try and take a pic of the clamp tomorrow

Apologies for hijack mine has had the 3 spoke steering since I bought and it has never adjusted since I have had it about 4 years. I just thought it was due to the change in steering wheel. Do you think the wd40 would work for me? It is porshe OEM 3 spoke steering not an after Market.

I have now got in/out movement albeit with some resistance but no up/down movement. When the lever is lowered I can feel movement at the join and it seems quite free. Anywhere else I can squirt WD40 to ease up/down action.

Don't think changing the steering wheel should affect the ability to adjust the steering wheel but I'm not sure.

Hi, I am really embarassed to admit this but following this thread I have now managed to adjust my steering fore and aft ! Previously I had assumed that even though I had the adjustable lever, I did not have the option - as you would on basic level cars. I really had pull hard though and it finally shifted ! Made a better driving position !
